Karen Bulthuis is a member (and deacon) of Old First. She is on a one-year assignment in Liberia, with Partners Worldwide. Her job is to help Liberian churches develop micro-capital projects for ethical economic development. Her skills are in training and management, and that's the work she'll do. These church-sponsored micro-capital projects are for employment, wages, dignity, and self-reliance.
